At Tidewater Volleyball, we have a camp for every age and every skill level. Take a look below to find the camp for your child and thank you for your support of Tidewater Volleyball!

Fall Camps

Single Day Camps (VBPS Days Off)

TVA will be hosting Youth Open Gyms and Single Day Clinics at the Tidewater Volleyball Center. We will host the following "Open Gyms" where students grades 6 through 12 can come and play, OR attend one of our skills clinics and work on what they!

  • October 14th (Virtual Learning Day, VBPS - No School for Students)
  • November 5th (Staff Day, Virtual Learning Day - No School for Students)
  • November 11th (Veterans Day - No School for Staff & Students)

Open Gym Times

  • Drop off as early as 8:00 am
  • Open Gym 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Skill Sessions Offered

  • 10:00 am to 11:00 am - Serving
  • 11:00 am to 12:00 pm - Passing
  • 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm - Setting
  • 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm - Hitting
  • 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm - Defense

Costs

  • $10.00 to enter the gym
  • Additional $10.00 for each hour long skill clinic
  • If only attending ONE Session the cost would be $20.00
  • If attending multiple sessions it would be $10.00 entry fee PLUS $10.00 for each session

Winter Break Camps

Winter XTREME HIGH PERFORMANCE

Xtreme : Xtreme  Camp is designed to go far beyond the basics. The camp is narrowly focused on specific techniques/tactics needed by the experienced middle/high school and/or club volleyball athlete. An understanding  of fundamental skills in the position is a prerequisite.  Xtreme High Performance camp require middle/high school and or/club experience played at the particular position and is designed to give participants exposure to the mastery skills required in all areas of the particular position while getting the exposure necessary to significantly improve their overall skill set.  

Attendees: Age 13 & up with considerable high school or competitive experience from any club. 

Dates: December 26th & 27th

Times: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day

Cost Per Day $75.00 or $130 for BOTH days

Winter Break All-Skills Camp

All-Skills: The 2019 Winter Break All-Skills camp is designed for beginner and intermediate players to come in and learn the fundamentals of Volleyball. This camp will give participants an opportunity to learn and develop new skills and focus on improving skills they already have.

Dates: December 26th & 27th

Times: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day

Cost: $65.00 per day or $110.00 for BOTH days

Ken Shibuya's Next Level Camp

Ken Shibuya's 7th Annual Next Level Camp is back at the Tidewater Volleyball Center starting December 6th with a special Serve and Pass Session led by Ken and Riley Salmon.  Ken will wrap up the Friday night session with a Q&A which parents are welcome to attend...these sessions lead the way in to the two day "Next Level Skills Camp" December 7th and 8th.

Ken Shibuya enters his ninth season as the Cardinal’s associate head coach in 2019-2020 and his 14th overall on staff. He has been an instrumental part of Stanford’s success in the last decade helping them to an NCAA Championship in 2010 and a NCAA final’s appearance in 2014. Shibuya is also one of the top USA High Performance coaches and is one of the original mentor coaches for the HP Staff. He has led numerous boy’s A1 camps and has been a part of eight US Boys Youth National Team coaching staffs. He was the head coach of the 2011, 2014, and 2015 BYNTs and participated in three FIVB Boys u19 World Championships. His 2014-15 team won the Gold Medal in the NORCECA Championships and finished 7th at the World Championships in Argentina (all-time best finish for USA).

Riley Salmon was named the head coach of the inaugural University of Jamestown men’s volleyball program (NAIA, Jamestown, ND) in 2019. His team will begin play in the 2020 season. Riley, a two-time Olympian, help Team USA win the Gold Medal at the 2008 Beijing Games. A starting OH opposite of Reid Priddy, he was considered one of the best passers in the game. He has played professionally in Europe and Brazil and now begins his journey as a coach. This summer he made a tremendous impression as a member of the USA Youth A1 staff, lending his knowledge and wisdom to some of the best young players in the nation. Says Coach Shibuya, “Coach Salmon is truly one of the most inspirational people in our great sport. He is a great communicator and teacher and has the ability to really transform athletes through his sharing of his unique experiences. He is a rising star in the coaching ranks.”

Michael Saeta blossomed as a star player in the French Professional Leagues and set his Chaumont team to great heights in his two years there. A graduate of UC Irvine where he was an AVCA All-American, Michael is a member of the USA National Team. He played in the prestigious 2019 World Cup for Team USA. A top setter in Europe, he is also known for his incredible left-handed serve. Ken Shibuya states, “We are extremely fortunate to have Michael as one of our instructors this year. This young man has been a winner at every level he has played and made himself into a top professional. Young players will learn a lot from Michael as he has played as an opposite and a setter for his college team. One of the most spectacular second contact attackers we’ve ever seen.”

Age Groups/Divisions:

Age groups for our SUMMER CAMPS are set according to the participant's grade for the oncoming 2018-2019 scholastic year.

Pre-K through 1st Grade
2nd through 3rd Grade
4th through 5th Grade
Middle School (6th through 8th Grade)
Freshman & Sophomores (9th through 10th Grade)
Juniors & Seniors (11th through 12th Grade)

These divisions are set as a basis for training. Players will be evaluated by school grade and then placed into groups according to skill level.
