TVA Announces Kris Wojieck as Executive Director

Former NVVA Director of Operations set to lead TVA into a new era


For Immediate Release:

(VIRGINIA BEACH, VA) – Tidewater Volleyball Association (TVA) is pleased to announce Kris Wojieck as Executive Director.

Kris moves from Sterling, VA where she served as  Director of Operations at Northern Virginia Volleyball Association.  While at NVVA, Kris assisted in Loudoun Youth Volleyball which provided 1200 middle schoolers an opportunity to play volleyball.  To continue to grow volleyball, she helped colaborate the Virginia Youth Volleyball League founded by Northern Virginia Volleyball Association, Richmond Volleyball Club and Tidewater Volleyball Association. During her stint at NVVA, Beach Volleyball, Adult Programs, and Grass Tournaments were added. “We’re excited to bring Kris to Virginia Beach to take over the reigns at TVA.  I’m confident her experience at NVVA in developing and promoting volleyball will successfully guide TVA into further growing the game in the Tidewater area,“ stated Steve Blevins, President of TVA.

She also worked with the Chesapeake Region to create the Northern Virginia Power League which allowed top club programs in the area to compete without traveling large distances. In her 5 years in the Chesapeake Region, she also coached the indoor High Performance team and was the Head Coach for CHRVA HP Beach Team.

Wojieck brings over 15 years of coaching experience from 9 years of collegiate experience at the Division I and II levels, 5 years of coaching club, and is a coach for Gold Medal Squared.

Kristina “Kris” Wojieck grew up in Lewisburg WV after her family retired from the Air Force.  During her high school career her team made two big runs in the state tournament and her senior year she led her team to a third place finish playing as an outside hitter.  She enjoyed her summers playing grass volleyball every chance she got.

Kris’ career continued at Queen's University of Charlotte, and because of her grass experience, played any position needed (except setting) before the libero rule came into play in college.  At that point she specialized as a Libero. She began her coaching career as a graduate assistant and went on to complete her Master's in Business Administration.

Tidewater Volleyball (TVA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting volleyball in the Coastal Virginia region.  Formed in 1965, TVA is one of the oldest promoters of beach volleyball leagues and tournaments in the Mid-Atlantic. With over 1,400 local members, TVA also offers indoor adult leagues and youth programs at three facilities in located in Virginia Beach and Portsmouth.
