TVA Beach Club

We are excited to announce the creation of the TVA Beach Club! Being host to one of the largest outdoor beach volleyball leagues and tournament series on the East Coast, and having the only Indoor Sand Facility in the region, we are ready to branch out and grow the youth game on the beach!

We are introducing a POD system of training.
Players will work in groups known as PODS (like a pod of dolphins). These pods will consist of FOUR to EIGHT players depending on commitment and skill level. Take a look below at how the pod system works and any additional information.

We will be hosting an information meeting at our TVA Sand Courts (TVA indoor sand facility 2682 Dean Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452). Meet our coaches, see our facilities and learn what's in store for the 2020 Beach Club season. Come on out and find out what all the buzz is about!

Cost: $300.00

Additional Costs (All Costs Below are Optional):

AVP America Membership: $20.00
- One time fee that lasts 365 days from purchase
- Required to participate in ANY AVP America tournament
Tournament Entry Fees $25-$50/player (depending on the event)
Tough Socks (Protects feet from hot/cold sand) $25.00
TVA Beach League Wednesday Nights: $85.00 (Summer League Only)
- Early Bird Rate Locked in for All Beach Club Participants
- Eight weeks of regular season matches (Two matches a night)

FAQ's

Who can play Beach Club?
TVA Beach Club is for boys and girls ages 10-16.

Do I need a partner to participate in this program?
No. You will have other teammates who can partner with you and the head coach can decide/help you to get one.

When and where will teams practice?
Teams will practice at the TVA Sand Courts (2682 Dean Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452) or at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront at 9th Street. Practices will begin as early as 5:30 pm.

Are tournaments/leagues included in the program fee?
No; however, we have multiple tournaments that they can choose to participate in. Players must have a partner and pay the applicable membership and tournament registration fees to participate.

Will coaches travel to tournaments with my child?
No. You are welcome to request that they come watch, but coaches are not required to attend tournaments.

What is the POD System?
A pod is a small group of participants (Four to Six) that train together and are grouped together based on age and skill level. Age groups are typically paired by even years ex. U12, U14, U16, & U18 so skill is the most important factor when pairing the PODs

I am a beginner, can I play in a “Premier POD” and practice twice a week?
Yes! Premier PODs practice twice a week. Participants will still be subject to an initial assessment to help place them within the correct group of players.

I know I want to play, but I don’t know what POD to register for. What should I do?
If you don’t know whether you’d like to participate with a CLUB POD (One practice a week), or a PREMIER POD (two practices a week), sign up for a CLUB POD. We can always upgrade your registration.
